Business Development - Startup Banking

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies in collaboration with the Director of Business Development
• Generate a pipeline of new prospects through events, partnerships, and referrals
• Engage with prospective clients to articulate SVB’s value proposition and convert them into clients
• Support founder success by advising on fundraising and facilitating ecosystem connections
• Partner with internal teams including Investor Coverage, Relationship Management, and Wealth to close deals
• Rigorously track all prospective and ongoing client engagement within the CRM

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or program management within the startup/VC ecosystem
• OR High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience
• Existing network within the innovation economy (founders, VCs, or service providers)
• Experience working with startups, venture capitalists, or accelerators

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the innovation economy
• Natural ability to build and maintain trusted professional relationships
• Proven ability to work autonomously as a self-starter
• Willingness to be regularly "in market" hosting and attending industry events
• Strong organizational skills and scrupulous attention to detail
