About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new clients and project opportunities within target markets
- Track and manage leads, opportunities, and client interactions
- Build and maintain relationships with industrial clients and key decision-makers
- Regularly visit client facilities and job sites (anticipated travel ~30%)
- Analyze market conditions and project cycles to determine engagement strategies
- Coordinate the end-to-end process for RFPs, RFQs, and other client solicitations
- Lead the preparation of proposals and qualifications packages
- Work with engineering staff to define project scope, approach, and fee estimates
- Maintain accurate documentation in the company CRM
- Support the transition of awarded projects to internal project teams
Requirements
- 5–15+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client management
- Experience in consulting, industrial or commercial engineering, construction, or related services
- Strong understanding of engineering or construction project delivery
- Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets
- Ability to meet clients on-site and develop long-term professional relationships
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage opportunities independently
