About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities in freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and related logistics services
- Develop and execute multi-channel account plans for target markets, industries, and geographies
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and achieve revenue targets
- Conduct needs assessments and prepare compelling proposals and bids
- Collaborate with Operations, Pricing, and Compliance to ensure competitive service offerings
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with customers and internal stakeholders
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes
- Represent the company at industry events and build a strong external network
- Manage post-sale onboarding and ensure customer satisfaction
- Prepare regular sales reports and revenue analyses for leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience in freight/logistics or 3PL sectors
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Deep knowledge of air, ocean, road, and rail freight modes, customs procedures, and incoterms
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and proposal-writing skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems and MS Office
- Ability to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree
- Experience with freight forwarders, NVOCCs, or freight brokerage
- Understanding of digital freight platforms and modal optimization
- Certifications such as CCLR or CPSM
