Business Development Manager - New Vertical

Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and acquire new grocery partners, focusing on independent retailers and local chains within the assigned territory
• Own the full sales cycle, including lead generation, initial outreach, negotiation, contract signing, and launch
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and key decision-makers to act as a trusted advisor
• Collaborate with Onboarding, Operations, Marketing, and Account Management teams to ensure smooth partner activation
• Manage and track your sales pipeline to ensure consistent delivery against acquisition and growth targets
• Act as a local brand ambassador to strengthen Deliveroo's presence within the retail community

Requirements

• Strong drive and enthusiasm for sales and business development
• Proven ability to build relationships from scratch and reach out to new contacts
• Confidence in engaging with partners in person and via telephone
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to handle objections effectively
• Genuine curiosity and knowledge regarding the Italian food and grocery market
• Highly organized and self-directed with experience managing a sales pipeline in fast-moving environments
