Business Development Manager, Human Health BioSolutions, Japan

Responsibilities

• Drive business development and commercial growth in Japan for probiotics and HMO solutions within the Early Life Nutrition market
• Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities with infant formula and early life nutrition customers
• Build and execute customer engagement plans to support short-term and long-term growth
• Develop strategic partnerships with customers and potential distributors
• Support the development and execution of the Japan HMO strategy and local portfolio positioning
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to share insights internally
• Collaborate closely with Product Design, Application, Business Support, Marketing, and regional teams
• Translate technical and product information into clear customer value propositions

Requirements

• BSc degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Business, or a related field
• 10+ years of industry experience in business development, sales, key account management, or commercial strategy
• Strong understanding of the Japanese market, including customer needs and industry trends
• Native-level Japanese and business-proficient English (written and spoken)
• Proven experience in commercial roles within food, nutrition, life science, or related industries
• Ability to work independently and drive impact in a proactive, entrepreneurial manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in technical sales, product development projects, or application support
• Knowledge of Early Life Nutrition, Infant Formula, Probiotics, HMO, or dietary supplements
• Understanding of infant formula manufacturing processes, formulation, and ingredient functionality
• Experience collaborating with R&D, Regulatory, or Marketing teams
