Business Development Manager

Responsibilities

• Drive the London business plan, including target lists, client relationship initiatives, and speaking opportunities.
• Lead the preparation of pitches, RFPs, and client-facing materials, including strategy sessions and internal debriefs.
• Spearhead the drafting and maintenance of practice-specific marketing materials and experience lists.
• Support key client efforts and lead client teaming initiatives to identify and grow high-value relationships.
• Collaborate with functional managers on digital marketing, directory participation, and communications.
• Contribute to the execution of seminars, events, and conference sponsorships.
• Manage one direct report and assist with the development of early-tenure marketing team members.

Requirements

• University degree.
• 5-7 years of experience in professional services (legal experience preferred).
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with firm leadership.
• Strong written communication and project management skills.
• Experience in line management of junior team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity and comfort with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Co-Pilot.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of formal team management experience.
• Experience with strategic business development planning and pitching.
• Transactional legal sector knowledge.
