About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across precision manufacturing, aerospace structures, and weapon systems integration
- Develop and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline aligned with company growth objectives
- Monitor federal procurement opportunities through SAM.gov, GovWin, and agency forecasts
- Engage customers early in the acquisition lifecycle to influence requirements
- Lead capture activities, including development of win strategies, competitive assessments, and teaming arrangements
- Coordinate internal teams including Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Pricing during capture efforts
- Manage proposal schedules, color reviews, and compliance reviews to ensure compelling submissions
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of business development or capture management experience in the defense industry
- Demonstrated success winning competitive U.S. Government contracts
- Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, and the DoD acquisition lifecycle
- Established relationships within DoD organizations or Tier 1 defense contractors
- Proficiency with CRM systems and tools like GovWin IQ or SAM.gov
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA, Engineering, or Public Administration)
- Shipley Associates Capture Management or Proposal Management certification
- Active Department of Defense Secret or TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Prior military service in acquisition, logistics, or program management
- Experience with SBIR, OTA, IDIQ, and GWAC opportunities
- Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs
