About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage 3-year business development plans in collaboration with Delivery Business Units
- Lead solution design to support growth priorities and shape opportunities prior to RFP release
- Build and manage a pipeline of new and expansion opportunities through market cultivation
- Identify market opportunities, emerging client needs, and solution gaps
- Maintain and manage pipeline and forecasts using Salesforce and ERP systems
- Support proposal development to ensure bids are competitive, compliant, and differentiated
- Coordinate program design, solution narratives, value propositions, and pricing strategies
- Partner with Delivery, Product, and Policy teams to ensure solution scalability and alignment
- Lead pursuit timelines and milestones across workstreams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in business development or consulting
- Advanced experience leading solution strategy in regulated or utility-focused markets
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Policy, Engineering, and IT teams
- In-depth knowledge of energy efficiency programs and utility procurement processes
- Advanced financial and strategic thinking skills including pricing strategy and budget analysis
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining industry and client relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Relevant energy/utility credentials such as CEM or PMP
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior staff on proposal development
- Deep understanding of utility/regulated market structures and procurement approaches (RFP/RFQ)
