About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development for propulsion products including electric propulsion systems and propellant tanks
  • Develop and implement sales plans, systems, and procedures to manage the sales pipeline
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Marketing teams to ensure product alignment and delivery
  • Conduct market research, competitive landscape analysis, and sales forecasting
  • Manage proposal planning, preparation, and submission, including bid/no-bid strategies
  • Identify and obtain RFPs from aerospace primes and satellite integrators
  • Represent Rocket Lab at industry conferences and customer meetings
  • Advise on technology licensing deals and strategic acquisitions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline
  • 12+ years of experience working with contractors in the aerospace or defense industry
  • Experience in the aerospace or satellite sector
  • Experience with satellite propulsion products development, manufacturing, or sales
  • Ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to obtain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, related engineering field, or business
  • Proven success in business development, sales, or program management for satellite propulsion
  • Deep understanding of engineering design, analysis, or mission design/trajectory requirements
  • Experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and MS Project
  • Experience using CRM software
  • Ability to develop cost estimates for build-to-print and design-to-specification programs
