Business Development Director

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the DoD, including Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and SOCOM
• Develop and execute a strategic pipeline of defense opportunities aligned with Jaia’s product roadmap
• Leverage existing relationships with program offices, PEOs, PMs, and prime integrators to accelerate sales cycles
• Navigate DoD acquisition pathways including OTA consortia, SBIR/STTR transitions, and traditional FAR-based contracts
• Build strategic partnerships with prime contractors and system integrators to enable teaming arrangements
• Represent Jaia Robotics at key industry events and government forums such as Sea Air and Space, AUVSI XPONENTIAL, and WEST
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align customer requirements with development priorities
• Lead proposal efforts to ensure responses to RFIs and RFPs are competitive and compliant

Requirements

• Proven track record of selling into defense markets
• Deep understanding of DoD procurement processes (OTAs, SBIRs, and FAR-based acquisitions)
• Established network within DoD program offices and PEOs
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Eligibility to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, oceanography, business, communications, or marketing
• Knowledge and experience operating JaiaBot vehicles
• Seamanship or boating skills
• Commitment to environmental protection
