Business Analyst

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business and functional requirements
• Decipher contractual and City policy documentation
• Lead meetings with stakeholders including Managers, Directors, and Commissioners
• Perform design analysis to incorporate requirements into functional and technical systems
• Review finalized requirements with QA, Development, and Functional Analysis teams
• Perform smoke tests prior to production deployment
• Create and distribute communications to stakeholders regarding rule implementations
• Provide support for union inquiries, agency inquiries, and grievance support

Requirements

• Experience in business requirements gathering and analysis
• Ability to perform design analysis for functional systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio
• Proficiency in SQL
• Knowledge of payroll and timekeeping systems
• Must currently be permanent in the civil service title of Computer Systems Manager or comparable title

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science and 3 years of IT experience (including 18 months in a managerial/administrative capacity)
• OR Baccalaureate degree and 4 years of progressive IT experience
• OR High school diploma and 6 years of progressive IT experience
