About the role
Responsibilities
- Advance key initiatives related to the planning, design, and implementation of bus priority projects
- Contribute to proposals for bus lanes, bus queue jumps, bus bulbs, and boarding islands
- Conduct data analysis, including evaluations of bus priority projects and GIS maps
- Perform technical traffic analysis
- Conduct outreach with the general public, community boards, and other public stakeholders
- Collaborate with DOT staff and other city, state, and federal agencies like the MTA
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree and two years of experience in community work or related activities; OR
- High school graduation and six years of experience in community work or related activities
- At least one year of experience in community-centered activities related to the duties described
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with transportation or urban planning projects
- Proficiency in ArcGIS suite for geographic data collection and analysis
- Experience with traffic analysis
- Familiarity with transit-oriented street design
- Experience with CAD or graphic design software
