Bus Priority Analyst

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement bus priority projects to improve bus speed and reliability
• Develop proposals using tools such as bus lanes, queue jumps, bus bulbs, boarding islands, and curb management
• Conduct data analysis, GIS mapping, and technical traffic analysis
• Support evaluations of bus priority projects and pedestrian safety improvements
• Conduct outreach with the public, community boards, and other stakeholders
• Coordinate with DOT staff and external agencies, including the MTA

Requirements

• Permanent Transportation Specialist title or reachable on Exam No. 3027
• Experience in transportation or urban planning-related projects
• Strong design, data, and outreach skills
• Geographic data collection and analysis experience, especially ArcGIS
• Traffic analysis experience preferred
• Familiarity with transit-oriented street design
• CAD or graphic design software experience desirable
