Bus Driver

Responsibilities

• Operate a bus in a safe and courteous manner to transport passengers over specified routes.
• Protect passengers by enforcing transportation policies and complying with all traffic regulations.
• Assist passengers with loading and unloading baggage and aid in boarding and de-boarding.
• Ensure passenger comfort by regulating heating, lighting, and ventilation systems.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete all required operational paperwork.
• Maintain communication with the Transportation Department regarding route information, schedules, delays, or accidents.
• Maintain a professional appearance and keep the vehicle clean.
• Attend required University meetings and events, including weekly Convocation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of OTR driving experience on similar vehicle types.
• Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Current medical and drug card.
• Fluency in English with a superior command of grammar and spelling.
• Ability to work long hours under stressful conditions and perform frequent overnight or weekend trips.
