Bus Driver Substitute

Responsibilities

• Operate buses following established routes and schedules to provide safe and reliable transportation
• Maintain high safety standards to ensure passenger confidence and comfort
• Communicate accurately regarding changes in passenger itineraries and transportation data
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and monitor vehicle performance and limitations
• Utilize two-way radio systems for proper communication
• Assist passengers with disabilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• One year of bus driving experience, including transporting passengers
• Valid NH CDL-B with passenger and air brake endorsements
• Valid NHDOT medical card
• Successful completion of criminal and driver record checks
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to complete required driver training courses (Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance, and Emergency Evacuation)
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
