About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and undertake mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, and energy management
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure continuous operation of plant equipment and machinery
  • Diagnose equipment problems and provide feedback on new construction or modifications to existing systems
  • Inspect facilities and mechanical rooms and repair necessary equipment
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the Facilities Management department
  • Perform cross-functional duties and other tasks as required by the classification

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate or Diploma in Building Operations, or a 3rd or 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate (TSSA)
  • Licensed trade certification (HVAC, Plumbing, Millwright, or Electrician) with a Provincial Certificate of Qualifications (COQ)
  • Minimum 2 years of practical hands-on experience in facilities operation and equipment maintenance
  • Computer literacy and ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Physical ability to lift between 11kg and 20kg
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
