Building Operator

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting
• Perform regular preventive maintenance to minimize emergency and corrective repairs
• Execute minor repairs on windows, doors, furniture, appliances, and plumbing fixtures
• Perform drywall patching, repairs, and painting as required
• Oversee the cleaning team and maintain facility inventory and cleaning supplies
• Liaise with external contractors and vendors during onsite visits
• Serve as an active member of the Health & Safety committee, addressing workplace inspection items
• Maintain service documents and facility records

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in medium to large facilities
• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Strong knowledge of building codes and building materials
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a changing environment
• Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle (preferred for travel between Winnipeg sites)

• Experience in facility operations and managing cleaning staff
• Analytical problem-solving skills and strong time management
