Building Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair building systems including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and kitchen equipment
• Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and hydraulic devices
• Perform installation and modification of building equipment and systems
• Repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and painting
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions or preventative maintenance needs
• Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms and pumps
• Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests
• Perform carpentry and snow removal as necessary

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting
• Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Basic computing skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to use technology such as smartphones, tablets, and building automation systems
