Building Envelope Engineer

About the Company

SMAC is a collective of over 2,000 collaborators tackling technical challenges in building envelopes. With a network of 60 agencies, SMAC operates in metropolitan France, overseas territories, and internationally including Morocco, Chile, Peru, and Spain.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical contact for agencies to provide support across all SMAC trades
• Participate in risk management by reviewing TNC, ATEX, and site opinion files
• Support agency skill development through technical evolution, feedback (REX), and training
• Respond to technical inquiries from price study/execution offices and site managers
• Centralize technical requests and coordinate with DTI specialists or external resources
• Manage the follow-up and scheduling of technical analyses for complex files
• Collect technical information to defend SMAC's interests during expert meetings
• Monitor technical trends and disseminate information to agencies
• Report site pathologies and best practices (REX) to the Technical Director
• Collect information from remarkable sites for Qualibat qualification renewals
• Report innovative site approaches and provide regular activity reports to the Technical & Innovation Director

Requirements

• Engineer or Architect degree
• Minimum five years of professional experience in a facade-specialized company or design office
• Significant experience in site supervision
• Mastery of building envelope systems, processes, and best practices
• Strong knowledge of regulatory environments, specifically seismic safety and fire safety for facades and roofs
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to defend positions with conviction
