Building Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems
• Address service requests including plumbing, lighting, and HVAC issues
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate as needed
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers
• Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies
• Follow company safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations
• Provide guidance to junior technicians

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Two to three years of job-related experience or commensurate certification
• Basic working knowledge of laptop and phone applications for work orders
• Familiarity with fire/life safety equipment and procedures
• Ability to read and write English for manuals and reports
• Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements
• Ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• CFC Certification
• Engineering and trade licenses required by local, state, or national requirements
• Experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting
