Building Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
• Address service requests such as hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate issues as needed
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers to support building operations
• Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies
• Follow company safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations
• Provide guidance to junior technicians when needed

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Two to three years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience
• CFC Certification preferred
• Basic working knowledge of laptop and phone applications for work orders and Microsoft Outlook
• Familiarity with fire/life safety equipment and procedures
• Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements
• Ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Proficiency in reading and writing English for manuals and reports
