Building Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
• Address service requests such as hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate issues as needed
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers to support building operations
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with safety protocols
• Follow OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Two to three years of job-related experience or commensurate certification
• Familiarity with fire/life safety equipment and procedures
• Ability to read blueprints and understand code requirements
• Competent knowledge of the use and care of tools
• Ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic facility operation software

Preferred Qualifications

• CFC Certification
• Engineering and trade licenses required by local, state, or national requirements
