Building Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems independently
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on critical building systems
• Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records on building equipment
• Manage service contractors during routine and emergency repairs
• Conduct thorough inspections and proactively report deficiencies
• Follow company safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers
• Provide guidance to junior technicians
• Develop proficiency with building automation systems (BAS)

Requirements

• 3-5 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements
• Advanced proficiency with HVAC and building automation systems (BAS)
• Familiarity with fire alarm and life safety systems
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and work order systems
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as stooping, crouching, and kneeling
