Building Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and other mechanical equipment
• Fire, monitor, and maintain boilers and auxiliary equipment
• Record operating data including temperatures, pressure, and fuel consumption via building automation systems
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on jet bridge systems, automated conveyor belts, and automated car wash equipment
• Repair and replace plumbing fixtures, pumps, motors, and hot water heaters
• Assist with electrical repairs and maintain overhead commercial doors
• Perform heavy lifting and work in confined spaces, tunnels, shafts, and at heights
• Perform seasonal tasks such as removing snow from sidewalks and walkways

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in building facilities maintenance
• Ability to work 3rd shift
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor
• Valid Iowa motor vehicle operator's license
• Ability to pass a post-employment physical, drug test, and background investigation for airport access
• Must obtain a Low Pressure Boiler Operator Certificate within 12 months of employment
