About the role
Responsibilities
- Support BAS operations by utilizing EMRS and analytical tools to ensure efficient functioning of HVAC and lighting control systems
- Perform initial triage and troubleshooting of reported comfort issues, alarms, and anomalies
- Execute graphical user interface enhancements to the BMS to improve operational efficiencies
- Conduct data management, trend analysis, and detailed reporting to inform management decision-making
- Carry out system validations of BAS components before they are onboarded to the expanding BMS
- Redirect field-related activities to required trades using the University's CMMS system
- Monitor building systems daily and assist departmental teams to ensure system functionality
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with Building Automation systems or industrial controls
- 1-2 years of experience setting up graphical user interfaces (e.g., EBI, Metasys, Desigo, Web Ctrl, EBO)
- In-depth knowledge of communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and Lon
- 1-2 years of experience supporting the commissioning of building automation systems
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and proven ability to create and analyze reports
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Building Environmental Systems (BES) Certificate
- CET or CTech designation
- Experience with fault detection and building systems analytics
