Build Quality Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Manage design ownership including drawing standardization, DFM, and configuration management
• Oversee planning through work instruction review, process development, and rework documentation
• Execute manufacturing quality via in-process build verification and coordination of travelled work
• Manage program quality including nonconformance processes, as-built verification, and root cause analysis
• Drive quality initiatives such as specification development, walk down checklists, and automation support
• Collaborate with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a STEM field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in fast-paced manufacturing
• Extensive experience interfacing with design, manufacturing, and test personnel
• In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and complex assembly practices
• Working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software
• Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of FMEA, APQP, SPC, and PPV methodologies
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) of hardware systems
• Familiarity with high-volume inspection and data-driven acceptance methods
• Understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 standards
