BUILD Internship Specialist

Responsibilities

• Instruct up to 16 credits of career-focused coursework per year, including classes on jobs, employment, and internships.
• Plan, develop, and provide ongoing support for student internship sites and execute internship fairs.
• Hire, train, and supervise a team of student Job Mentors who provide on-site support to interns.
• Design and monitor Personalized Learning Plans (PLP) for student advisees and communicate progress to parents or guardians.
• Manage vehicle scheduling for student internships and collaborate with the Director to ensure program success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3+ years of experience working with students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
• Ability to hire, train, and manage student workers.
• Expertise in the characteristics of students with intellectual disabilities and their required accommodations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain open, cooperative communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Previous experience teaching or working at the college level.
