About the role
Responsibilities
- Negotiate, prepare, and finalize unencumbered grant funding agreements from primary sponsors and collaborating sites.
- Support researchers and internal stakeholders in understanding complex budgets, including eligible expense categories and matched funding requirements.
- Review and interpret funder policies and budgetary requirements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and UHN policies.
- Assist Grant Officers and Specialists in interpreting terms and conditions on grant submissions.
- Streamline the flow of grant funding among collaborators in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Provide advice on funder/agency budget and related policy requirements to other Research Services departments.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a health, science, or business-related discipline.
- Minimum of one year of practical and related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple competing demands.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within the healthcare industry or a university research service team.
- Familiarity with Tri-Agency and NIH processes.
- Experience with finance, accounting, or budget management.
- Experience with contract and file management systems.
