Budget Analyst

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Associate Dean and department chair to determine financial strategies for various academic programs
• Manage manual and electronic fiscal information, files, and records to provide up-to-date information and audit trails
• Monitor spending against unrestricted, restricted, and sponsored accounts
• Resolve issues discovered during monthly review and reconciliations of accounts
• Prepare reports including salary and sponsored funding year-end estimates and projections
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of expense transactions, payroll, and student employee terminations
• Coordinate with various university units regarding graduate assistantships, stipends, and awards
• Supervise student employees and casual, temporary workers

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 3 years of budget or financial analysis experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
• Experience with budget and financial analysis methods (personnel, trend, projection)
• Ability to work with and summarize large data sets
• Strong organizational and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a higher education setting
• Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft
• Experience with Hyperion planning
