Broadcast Director

Responsibilities

• Direct live newscasts using a Sony manual switcher
• Oversee the overall look and execution of newscasts and on-air programming
• Identify and resolve potential production issues before they reach air
• Maintain studio readiness, including lights, sets, and production areas
• Create graphics for newscast and program elements
• Troubleshoot technical systems as needed

Requirements

• Experience with manual production switchers, ENPS, BitCentral, and Chyron graphics systems preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to breaking news, severe weather, and unexpected events
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-departmental collaboration
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Three or more years of directing experience in a medium or major market preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, television production, or a related field preferred
