Broadband Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform installations and service changes for residential and commercial high-speed internet and telecommunication services
• Troubleshoot services from NID to ONT, including Wi-Fi and networking issues
• Maintain, operate, and construct outside fiber plant
• Perform fusion splicing and testing using tools like OTDR
• Educate subscribers on network device configuration and product functionality
• Respond to on-call rotation for trouble calls (24/7 availability one week per month)
• Operate company vehicles and climb ladders or poles safely

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, GIS, and inventory systems
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs
• Ability to work in limited confines such as crawl spaces

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of telecommunications industry experience
• Experience or certification with Calix network equipment
• Knowledge of Ethernet, Wi-Fi, mesh, and GPON technologies
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License
