About the role

Responsibilities

  • Apply structural engineering principles to provide solutions for assessment, evaluation, load rating, design, and rehabilitation of bridges and transportation structures
  • Manage bridge and structural tasks for multi-discipline projects, including developing replacement strategies and completing structural analysis
  • Assist in preparing construction contract documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, and reports
  • Perform calculations and structural analysis/modeling using company standard or proprietary software
  • Conduct quality reviews of drawings, codes, and other technical materials
  • Assemble detailed design packages and plan sets for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years of bridge and/or structural design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months
  • Proficiency in AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structural design and load rating software such as AASHTOWare, BRASS, CSiBridge, OpenBridge, SAP2000, or LPile
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Mathcad, or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience with Design-Build or alternative delivery projects
  • Experience working with state DOTs (e.g., CDOT, ADOT, NMDOT, Caltrans)
