Bridge Engineer

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering principles to provide solutions for assessment, evaluation, load rating, design, and rehabilitation of bridges and transportation structures
• Manage bridge and structural tasks for multi-discipline projects, including developing replacement strategies and completing structural analysis
• Assist the team in preparing construction contract documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, and reports
• Perform calculations and structural analysis/modeling using company standard or proprietary software
• Conduct quality reviews of drawings, codes, and other technical materials
• Assemble detailed design packages and plan sets for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years of bridge and/or structural design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months
• Proficiency in structural design and load rating software (e.g., AASHTOWare, BRASS, CSiBridge, SAP2000)
• Solid understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CDOT, ADOT, NDOT, NMDOT, UDOT, WSDOT, or Caltrans projects
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Mathcad
• Previous experience with Design-Build or other alternative delivery project methods
