Bridge Design Lead, Rail and Transit

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and management of multidisciplinary rail and transit bridge projects, including freight and passenger infrastructure.
• Manage the creation of engineering design products for bridge rehabilitation, replacement, and new design projects.
• Perform complex technical engineering tasks, including structural analysis models, detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct engineering assessments of existing complex freight rail bridges to support rehabilitation and design development.
• Provide technical direction, oversight, and mentoring to junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Support project pursuits by preparing budget estimates and writing successful technical proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 10+ years of progressive rail bridge engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling analysis software, specifically CSI Bridge or MIDAS Civil.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
• Proven ability to mentor less experienced engineering staff.
