About the role

Responsibilities

  • Paint, frame, and install bridge timbers
  • Conduct masonry repairs on bridges, including constructing concrete forms, driving piles, and managing concrete layout, pouring, and finishing
  • Undertake construction and repair tasks related to culverts, timber and steel bridges, and buildings
  • Adhere to all safety, operational, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and contractors

Requirements

  • Age 21 or above
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • CDL Class A or B (or ability to obtain one within the probationary period)
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending blueprints and technical instructions
  • Successful completion of an English language assessment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with operating heavy machinery, including construction and farm equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively outdoors in diverse weather conditions
  • Experience in a construction-oriented environment
  • Flexibility to work on-call, overtime, and various shifts including weekends and holidays
