About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the brewing process from raw material mixing and blending to the final fermented product
- Add materials per recipe (malt, hops, spices, yeast, etc.) and monitor inventory levels
- Monitor process parameters including sensory, flow rates, volumes, temperatures, pH levels, and density
- Perform milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, cooling, yeast pitching, and fermentation tasks
- Conduct daily cleaning of all brewing work areas following 5S standards
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment
- Adhere to OSHA and NBB safety regulations, including safe chemical handling
- Communicate effectively with other departments regarding process flow and consistency
Requirements
- Entry-level brewing knowledge with an aptitude to learn brewing science
- Basic understanding of math, physics, chemistry, and microbiology
- Mechanical skills and ability to work with equipment involving multiple logic functions
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations
- Ability to lift objects up to 56.5 lbs and carry them up to 100 feet
- Ability to stand frequently and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, and squatting
