About the role
Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking breakfast for guests at site
- Ensuring consistent quality of food preparation including special dietary constraints
- Ensuring proper equipment operation, safety, and sanitization in the kitchen
- Complying with food safety regulations and Food Safety Act
- Completing all HACCP and Production logs
- Preparing adequate quantities of menu choices following production quotas and budget guidelines
- Performing end-of-shift cleaning, sweeping, and mopping of workstation
- Receiving and storing all supplies including food, beverage, and chemicals
Requirements
- Current Food Safe certificate
- Large scale camp cooking experience
- Ability to commit to the full duration of the contract (June 20 - August 22)
- Ability to remain at the lodge for the full duration of the work term
- Ability to successfully complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) level 3
- High standards in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal certification or other culinary certification
- Experience in accurately producing weekly inventories
