Bread Loaf Watchperson

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings and grounds according to prescribed routes and schedules
• Monitor sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and building security to ensure safety and functionality
• Maintain radio or telephone contact with Department of Public Safety dispatch
• Complete written reports summarizing nightly rounds and report any maintenance or safety violations
• Lock and unlock buildings and assist Department of Public Safety staff as necessary
• Perform facilities maintenance tasks including snow removal, event set-up/cleanup, and trash removal

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to walk, climb stairs, stand, crouch, and bend for long periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and holidays
• Ability to pass a background check and handle confidential matters with discretion
• Previous experience in security or knowledge of mechanical systems is helpful
