Branch Librarian and Archives Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Supervise library paraprofessional staff and archive volunteers
• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Headquarters Library, including service desk scheduling
• Oversee the Headquarters Library print collection, including development, maintenance, and weeding
• Identify, organize, and preserve court records, judges' papers, and historical artifacts
• Create finding aids, research guides, and tools to facilitate access to historical materials
• Provide legal and non-legal research and reference services for judges and court staff
• Act as a liaison to the National Archives and Records Administration and other historical organizations
• Develop and obtain permissions for historical displays and exhibits

Requirements

• M.L.S. degree from an ALA-accredited library school
• Two years of professional law library experience
• One year of archives experience
• Excellent research and organizational skills
• Knowledge of library, archives, and knowledge management principles
• Ability to travel occasionally within the Circuit
• Ability to handle occasional moderate to heavy physical activity

Preferred Qualifications

• Four years of progressively responsible library experience
• Two years of progressively responsible archives experience
• Experience with digital archives software such as ArchivesSpace
• J.D. degree
• Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or LibGuides
• Experience in acquisitions, cataloging, and technical services
