Branch Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop crane layouts and rigging drawings for lift plans using custom lifting tools
• Create layout drawings for heavy machinery moving projects utilizing gantries, slide systems, and modular trailers
• Produce drawings for heavy transportation projects including over-the-road and barge operations
• Use AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, RISA, and Barnhart calculation spreadsheets to develop engineering solutions
• Perform field walk-down assessments to develop equipment lists and identify potential issues
• Provide technical support to Project Managers and Superintendents on job sites as issues arise
• Design custom lifting or support tools using AISC and ASME standards
• Function as field technical liaison for complex projects, performing safety and quality evaluations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited university
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Basic experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD
• Problem-solving and analytical expertise
• Strong communication skills for reporting and client interaction

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with engineering software including AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, and RISA
• Familiarity with heavy lift and heavy transport project design
