BQS Licensed Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-bunker surveys onboard vessels and at shore terminals
• Accurately measure fuel quantities using ullage, temperature, and density methods
• Ensure adherence to industry standards such as ISO 22192:2021
• Prepare and issue bunker survey reports and documentation
• Act as an independent verifier during fuel delivery to protect stakeholder interests
• Investigate and resolve quantity discrepancies or disputes during bunkering
• Liaise with vessel crew, suppliers, and port authorities
• Maintain proper calibration and care of surveying equipment
• Ensure compliance with HSSE standards during site visits

Requirements

• Valid Bunker Quantity Surveyor (BQS) license
• 2-5 years of experience in bunker quantity surveying or marine/oil & gas roles
• Strong knowledge of marine fuel systems and tank calibration
• Familiarity with maritime regulations and port authority procedures
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• STCW Basic Safety Training certification
• Familiarity with mass flow meter (MFM) systems
• Proficiency in report writing and digital data collection tools
