About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the Deputy Borough Director and/or Borough Manager with maintaining key relationships and tracking high-level issues
- Identify and maintain organizing opportunities within the borough
- Build layers of engagement throughout the borough
- Attend civic, community board, and community meetings
- Ensure follow-up on constituent cases when relevant
- Support the Deputy Borough Director or Borough Manager during emergencies, such as blackouts or high-profile incidents
- Support the Office of Mass Engagement borough team
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree and two years of community work experience, OR
- High school graduation and six years of community work experience, OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least one year of experience in community-centered activities
- Previous organizing experience, including volunteer work
- Knowledge of local borough communities
