Boot Camp Monitor I

Responsibilities

• Provide visual and electronic supervision, protection, and security for the Judge Mario E. Ramirez, Jr. Juvenile Justice Center Boot Camp Facility.
• Safeguard facility assets, employees, and residents.
• Ensure program management adheres to Hidalgo County and Texas Juvenile Justice Department policies and standards.
• Utilize basic lifesaving methodologies to render medical assistance to residents as needed.
• Participate in training and implement non-violent physical restraint techniques to manage residents.
• Maintain administrative requirements and prepare concise, clear written reports.
• Set a professional example regarding personal appearance and uniform standards for residents.
• Use independent judgment to handle emergency situations, resolve problems, and maintain a military-style rehabilitation environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One (1) year of relevant experience.
• Current and valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license.
• Ability to pass an FBI Background check.
• Ability to pass a Child Abuse Registry check.
• Ability to pass the Texas Juvenile Justice Department certification exam.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Prior military experience.
