About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the Bonner Program, including vision-setting, strategic planning, and program evaluation.
  • Manage and steward program budgets exceeding $400,000, including operational, internship, and student employment funds.
  • Develop and implement a four-year developmental curriculum for Bonner Scholars and Leaders focused on social justice, civic engagement, and leadership.
  • Supervise professional and student staff, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, and enrollment processes for the Bonner Program cohorts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Bonner Foundation, managing annual reports and national initiatives.
  • Design and implement high-impact community-engaged learning programs in collaboration with campus partners.
  • Develop and maintain strategic community partnerships with nonprofit and government organizations.
  • Consult with academic departments to integrate community engagement into curricula and research.
  • Lead initiatives that advance racial equity and inclusive excellence within the Center for Community Engagement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in student affairs, higher education, educational leadership, community development, social work, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, service-learning, student affairs, or volunteer management within a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff and student employees.
  • Proven track record of managing complex budgets and fiscal operations.
  • Experience developing and maintaining strategic community partnerships with nonprofit organizations.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with the Bonner Foundation network or similar national service-scholarship programs.
  • Experience designing and implementing community-engaged learning curricula.
  • Background in nonprofit capacity-building or organizational development.
  • Grant writing and grant management experience.
  • Experience working with racially and socioeconomically diverse student populations.
