About the Company

The Bonner Community Leaders (BCL) program is part of a nationally recognized network of leadership and scholarship programs through the Bonner Foundation. Augsburg BCL is a cohort of 25 students who commit to doing civic and community-based work and contribute to building a more just world, working in and with communities surrounding Augsburg University.

Responsibilities

• Engage in civic engagement and community building
• Participate in social justice and diversity initiatives
• Complete cornerstone activities including a first-year trip and second-year exchange
• Take on leadership roles in third year, such as project or site coordinators
• Develop a senior capstone project with a placement site
• Perform 8-10 hours per week of community-centered work
• Attend monthly program meetings and check-ins

Requirements

• Federal work-study eligible
• First-generation college student
• Passion for community and justice-centered work
• Commitment to at least 2 years in the program
• Ability to participate in full program activities and meetings
• Availability for 8-10 hours of work per week
