Bonds & Guarantees Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the strategic governance of bonding facilities, off-balance-sheet commitments, and Parent Company Guarantees (PCGs).
• Negotiate and establish bonding facilities with financial institutions and negotiate commissions to ensure cost efficiency.
• Provide contractual advisory and legal review of bonding-related terms and conditions during tender and contract phases.
• Structure optimal guarantee and surety issuance schemes to mitigate risk and ensure bankability.
• Act as a business partner to regional functions, providing guidance from pre-qualification to the final release of financial securities.
• Manage the allocation of worldwide bank capacity and ensure timely issuance of guarantees and amendments.
• Drive digital transformation within the department, including the deployment of digital guarantee management tools.
• Develop management reports regarding Group exposure, capacity requirements, and financial risk concentration.

Requirements

• Master 2-degree level in International Trade, Law, or a related Legal/Contract Management background.
• 5-8 years of experience in trade, project finance, or legal roles within a bank, insurance company, or corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of the banking market, international regulations, and ICC demand guarantee rules.
• Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in at least one additional language: German, Spanish, or French.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate market constraints into business-oriented solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business-oriented data tools such as advanced Excel modelling, Qlik, or Power BI.
• Background in data analytics applied to financial exposure and cost analysis.
