Boiler Plant Operator

Responsibilities

• Interpret gauges, meters, and computerized control systems to track steam pressure, water levels, and combustion efficiency
• Perform preventative maintenance including replacing valves and gaskets
• Conduct repairs to prevent equipment corrosion or malfunction
• Sample and test boiler water and adjust chemical treatments
• Conduct diagnostic tests and maintain detailed operational logs
• Follow strict environmental and safety regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Maryland (MD) Stationary Engineer Grade 1 license (500 or more horsepower)
• At least 5 years of experience operating boiler plants
• At least 2 years of experience as an MD Grade 1 Stationary Engineer
• Ability to pass a government background check
• Physical ability to work in demanding environments (bending, lifting, climbing)
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
