Boiler Operator & Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate the heating plant to provide a constant, uninterrupted steam supply to the campus
• Maintain and validate automation systems, including reviewing set points and verifying operational parameters
• Perform water tests for boilers, softeners, and condensate, and maintain cooling towers
• Conduct pool testing, record keeping, and filter maintenance
• Execute preventative maintenance and repairs including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical tasks
• Perform welding, brazing, and metal fabrication for campus repair needs
• Maintain accurate daily plant records and operational data for chillers and water softeners
• Respond to emergency work requests and handle weekend service needs

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Mechanical or electrical background
• Experience with boiler operation
• Proficiency with computers for spreadsheets, email, and building automation systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for troubleshooting
• Valid Driver’s License
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various environments, including extreme temperatures and heights

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Boiler Operator 1 and 2 certifications
• Ability to obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
• Ability to obtain Private School or College Routine Maintenance Specialty License
