About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage plant utilities including boilers, cooling towers, and compressed air
  • Perform safe, controlled startup and shutdown of boilers and air compressors
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with boilers, pumps, valves, and controls
  • Conduct water chemistry testing, pull samples, and adjust chemical dosages
  • Monitor daily operations and maintain accurate records via paper logs or digital databases
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Comply with all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Work with engineering teams to optimize system performance

Requirements

  • High pressure or above Boiler License from the state of Ohio
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of experience in boiler operations or maintenance preferred
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds chest-high
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and stand for up to 12 hours
  • Basic math skills and strong reading comprehension
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of vocational training or additional technical education
  • Forklift operating experience
