Boiler Mechanic MD Grade 2

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers, closed vats, and pressure vessels
• Read blueprints to assemble boiler tanks and connect pipe systems, valves, and gauges
• Perform routine preventive maintenance including cleaning vats and replacing defective tubes
• Diagnose malfunctions, conduct pressure tests, and replace broken components
• Regulate equipment, adjust controls, and maintain logs of fuel usage and pressure levels

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience operating and maintaining boiler plants
• At least 1 year of experience as an MD Grade 2 Stationary Engineer
• Maryland (MD) Stationary Engineer Grade 2 license (300 to 499 horsepower)
• Ability to lift heavy objects and navigate tight confined spaces
• Ability to work at heights and in high-pressure, high-temperature environments
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding)
• Ability to pass a government background check
